I’ve been learning more about the particle generators and emitters in Maya. I made this simple animation with a plane set as an emitter, with the particles set to Multistreak and inheriting the colors of a rainbow gradient that was mapped to the plane. I then applied a vortex field, along with a light and a camera, and voila. Still working out the kinks on the Youtube compressors, so sorry for the slight pixelation.
