Awesome Kid Robot spot

Posted by: Colin Bridges on: June 29, 2009

This has a bunch of great stuff going for it:
Cute idea.
An actual story.
Great use of camera angles (notice how the cowboy subtly slides backwards in the frame just as they cut to a close up of the tomahawk.)
Bonus: I love the Kidrobot bumper at the end.  The motion is very [...]

Posted by: Colin Bridges on: June 28, 2009

Hey boys and girls: it’s the first edition of the Motion:Art:Design book club. And look who got yanked off the shelf. I’m hoping there are some interesting insights into being a creative person, taking his work seriously. I haven’t really started into it too far, but the first interesting quote:

Hey, I know I’ve gone a little TED crazy today, but this is a pretty amazing lecture on the nature of film making and mystery.  Side note:  I was obsessed with this giant box in grad school.  It was just big enough to fit one person, and I did a whole bunch of crazy avant-garde [...]

Posted by: Colin Bridges on: June 19, 2009

This is a cool post on Motionographer.com about motion design for screens.  We see them all the time in movies, but there’s a ton of work that goes into them.  I especially like the Microsoft video at the bottom of the page… it’s really beautiful to watch, even though it is also really pie-in-the-sky (I [...]
